The labels for food-lovers

The label « Restaurants du Terroir »’s goal is to uncover and promote Breton culinary heritage in new way, using a quality approach that highlights the work behind these regional products.
True prescribers to economy and tourism in Brittany, restaurant owners work in partnership with local producers. They are committed to sharing information with their customers concerning the origin of these products. The “Restaurants du Terroir” answer to a detailed quality charter and are closely monitored by independent auditors.
To obtain and keep the label, the “Restaurants du Terroir” are inspected by independent food critics, which guarantees you :
- an encounter with true enthusiasts, who keep up with the latest flavours and tastes ;
- a unique discovery of Breton culinary heritage, which, between tradition and innovation, unfolds in a thousand ways ;
- a partnership with regional producers, pledging use of locals products derived from authentic know-how ;
- and, beyond your tasting pleasure, a real desire to have you discover and fall in love with Brittany.
One establishment in our area received this label : the Hostellerie de la Mer in Crozon (Le Fret).

The « Crêperie Gourmande » label was created in order to federate creperies and promote regional products, using a quality approach.
The Regional Tourism Committee and its partners initiated the quality procedure « Crêperies Gourmandes » within the Brittany region :
“Thus, when you enter a “Crêperie Gourmande”, you are guaranteed :
- to be welcomed by a crepe specialist ;
- to have a large selection to satisfy your whims (less than 25 % of choices other than crepes and pancakes on the menu) ;
- to sample true crepes and pancakes made on the spot ;
- to be in an establishment open at least eight months of the year ;
- to be dealing with an experienced crepe maker who has solid knowledge of local and regional products (mandatory training required before applying for the label) ;
- the results of a true quality approach (the establishment was audited by an independent organism and received the « Crêperie Gourmande » label for a three-year period) ».
Four creperies in our area received this label : Crêperie du Ménez Gorre in Crozon / Au Soleil Breton in St Nic / Crêperie de St Côme in St Nic / Crêperie de Kervel Izella in Plonévez-Porzay.

The FRPATB (Fédération Régionale des Pays Touristiques de Bretagne /Regional Federation of Tourist Areas of Brittany) publishes a guide, "Restaurant du Terroir", available in tourist offices.
