Security : some advice...

Certain beaches are reputed to be dangerous, and swimming is strictly prohibited : western coastline of the Cap de la Chèvre (Municipal Order of 12/10/1975) :
- Lostmarc’h Beach
- La Palue Beach
- Pen-Hat Beach

The tidal pool phenomena
A tidal pool is a small pond formed naturally on the beach. It seems like the perfect spot to splash about. However, during the first three hours of rising tides, it becomes invisible, and strong currents formed in the pond’s gully can drag even the best swimmers out to sea. The only way to avoid drowning it : do not panic, let yourself be carried along. An even better way : don’t swim in prohibited areas, where imprudent drownings happen every year.

Consult tidal timetable.
